Hanuman Enlarges His Body

Hanuman enlarges his body and uses his tail to form a bridge for his army to cross a river to find hermit Chadil who can show them the way to Lanka.

Hanuman, Ongkhot and Chomphoophan tried to find out the way to Lanka in search of Naang Sida.  Phra Ram had given Naang Sida’s Kaew Molee ring and shawl to Hanuman so that he could prove who he was.

On the way, they met demon Paklan, who was cursed by Phra Isuan to be the guardian of Phanta lake.  Paklan pointed the way for them.  In return, Ongkhot stroked Paklan’s back, the curse was lifted and he turned back into a divine being once more.  Next, they met Naang Busmalee, who was cursed by Phra Isuan to stay in this castle.  When she learned that they were Phra Rams soldiers, she too pointed the way for them.

Hanuman won her as his wife, then threw her up into the sky.  The curse was shattered and she returned to heaven.

On the way, they also met Naang Suwanmalee, whom Phra Isuan had sent to tell them the way to Lanka.  She told them to take their army across the river to meet hermit Chadil who would then guide the way to Lanka.  Hanuman enlarged himself and used his tail as a bridge for the monkey army to cross the river to find the hermit.
